The Baldwin Public Library is proud to announce that we are now a member of the Nassau Digital Doorway, powered by OverDrive®. You can browse and select from a variety of great fiction and non-fiction titles for all ages, download them to your computer, transfer them to a variety of portable devices, or burn them onto a CD (when allowed by the publisher) for your enjoyment anywhere, anytime.

With your Baldwin Public Library card you can download audiobooks to your home computer and transfer them to your compatible mobile device for convenient listening. You may also download eBooks to read on your home computer screen or transfer to a Sony Reader or Barnes and Noble nook™ (Amazon's Kindle™ is NOT compatible).

Patrons may check out up to five titles at a time. The lending period for audiobooks is 7 days, and eBooks may be kept for up to 14 days. At the end of the borrowing period, the books will expire from your computer and be automatically returned to the digital collection.

To access the Nassau Digital Doorway audiobook and eBook collection you need:

-A valid Baldwin Public Library card in good standing
(You will not be able to use this service if you have overdue items or outstanding fines on your account)

-Access to the Internet (high-speed connection preferred)

-Free downloadable software for the computer and/or device on which you wish to use the materials (the software is available on the Nassau Digital Doorway site)

-A computer or device that meets the system requirements for the type(s) of digital materials you wish to check out
